PGAD Link is an independent educational and digital health platform dedicated to Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder / Genito-Pelvic Dysesthesia (PGAD/GPD). It brings together evidence-aware information, research, provider resources, clinician education, and support resources.

What is PGAD/GPD?

PGAD/GPD involves persistent or recurrent, unwanted or intrusive, distressing sensations of genital arousal. Symptoms can occur without corresponding sexual interest, thoughts, or fantasies and may include tingling, throbbing, burning, twitching, itch, pain, and other genito-pelvic dysesthesias.

Important PGAD/GPD features

PGAD/GPD is not the same as a high sex drive or hypersexuality. Pain and other dysesthetic sensations may occur. Sexual activity or orgasm may provide limited relief, no relief, or may aggravate symptoms in some people.

Limited epidemiological studies summarized by ISSWSH suggest that approximately 0.6% to 3% of women may experience symptoms consistent with PGAD/GPD, although the true prevalence remains uncertain.
